Summer Jobs for Students

Abbe Hills Farm CSA, near Mt. Vernon, Iowa, has hired all of the workers we think we will need for the 2013 season.  However, you may still submit an application for the worker file.  If we get very busy, we may need to hire more.  Job announcements for college age workers and high school age workers explain the application process.

Ordering Seed Corn

We have sold out of seed for 2013.  I'm sorry for the inconvenience.  Drought in 2012 was tough on yield.  I'll plant more this season, and hopefully, we'll have much more seed to sell in 2014.

All seed sizes of Abbe Hills OP in 2013 are $60 per bushel, plus shipping, or $35 per half bushel, plus shipping.  Smaller amounts are $12 per pound, postage paid.  

Seed can be shipped to you by mail (USPS) or by SpeeDee Delivery Service (if you live within their service area), or you may pick it up at the farm.  Delivery runs from $12.50 to $62 per bushel, depending on the distance from Mt. Vernon, Iowa, and the method of shipping.  If you decide to pick up the corn yourself, PLEASE call or email so arrangements can be made to have someone available to help you when you arrive.

Please print the order form from the box on this webpage and mail it to me to place your order for Abbe Hills OP seed corn in 2013.  If you want me to calculate your shipping cost, note that on the order form and I will send you an email or note when I receive your order.  Or, to speed things up, you may calculate the total cost from the tables and include that in your check. 

As soon as I am able after receiving your check, I will ship your seed.  Delivery is usually possible in about ten days.  If you decide to come to the farm to pick up your seed, you may pay me then.
