Eggs for Sale

Hand holding brown eggs for sale at Abbe Hills Farm in Mount Vernon, Iowa

There are plenty of lovely eggs right now. $3 per dozen, in the Pepsi cooler in the shed.

What does it cost?

In 2011, a regular-sized share costs $400, or $20 per week for 20 weeks.  One share should be enough food for two adults and two or three children, or two good vegetable eating singles.

The season will begin as soon as possible in June, likely the week of June 6.  The last pickup of the season will be 20 weeks later, probably Saturday, October 22.

There is also an out-of-town-half-the-summer option for families who will be travelling over the summer . The half-season shares are $240. Since most of the garden's production is concentrated in the fall, these shares cost slightly more than half of the full season price. The half-season shares will begin the week of August 15/18.

Payment plans are available.  Please talk about this with Laura when you register.
